THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The decision to make 75 years the age limit of members in party factors including central committee will be implemented in Kerala also. The details of this will be discussed in the state leadership meet starting August 14. When the age limit was made 80 years last time, relaxations were given to those who were active in functioning. This time too such relaxations are likely to be given.
In CPM state secretariat, apart from politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan who is above 75, Ananthalavattom Anandan, P Karunakaran, M M Mani and K J Thomas are also there. Ananthalavattom Anandan turned 80 last time. He was given relaxation taking into account his functional dynamics. There are many including Koliyakod Krishnan Nair, who is above 80 and given relaxations. There is a dozen in the state committee who are 75 and above that. There are many above the age limit in local, area and district levels.
A decision will be taken at the state leadership meet convened on August 14, 16 and 17 the schedules of the party meetings. As the party congress is in Kannur, the meets have been completed earlier. There is a move to conduct the state meet in January. It is likely to be held in Kollam or Ernakulam. District meetings will be completed by November and December.
