Kerala clocks 23,500 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, TPR at 14.49, 116 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 23,500 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 22,049 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1258 cases without an identified source of infection. 84 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 109 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

19,411 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,75,957 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 116 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 18,120.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thrissur 3124, Malappuram 3109, Ernakulam 2856, Kozhikode 2789, Palakkad 2414, Kollam 1633, Alappuzha 1440, Thiruvananthapuram 1255, Kottayam 1227, Kannur 1194, Pathanamthitta 696, Idukki 637, Wayanad 564, Kasargod 562.

1,62,130 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 14.49.
