THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man, who was infested with maggots while undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, passed away on Saturday. Vattiyoorkavu native Anil Kumar (55) died at his home on Saturday morning.

Last year, a controversy had erupted after Anil Kumar was found infested with maggots after being discharged from the hospital. Relatives alleged that Anil Kumar, who was in critical condition due to worm infestation, had not recovered.

Anil Kumar was admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College in August last year after he fell from a tree.
