Can't accept such evil tendencies of government officials, action within 45 days of lodging dowry harassment complaint: Antony Raju

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister Antony Raju has said that stern action will be taken against transport department officials who harass their wives in the name of dowry. He said action would be taken within 45 days of the complaint being lodged against the Transport Department officials who were committing domestic and mental harassment in the name of dowry.

There is a general need to take action against those who dowry harassment and strong action will be taken against such people. He said it is unacceptable for government officials, who should be role models for the society, to do such things.

Antony Raju added that it is the need of the hour to take action according to the conscience of the society against dowry which is becoming a social disaster in Kerala. Earlier, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector S Kiran Kumar, husband of SV Vismaya of Kollam, who died under mysterious circumstances at her husband's house, was sacked from the Transport Department.
