CM should clarify Dharmadam connection in tree-felling case, reference of two individuals serious, says V D Satheesan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan asked the chief minister to clarify the Dharmadam connection in the Muttil tree-felling case. He said the chief minister returned the investigation report against N T Sajan, the official of the forest department. The opposition leader said while talking to the media after attending the Sree Narayana Gurudeva Jayanthi function.

The tree-felling issue was raised in the assembly thrice by the opposition. We saluted the officials of the forest department who took an honest stand in the assembly. The chief minister should clarify what is the Dharmadom connection that protects the officer who intimidated, threatened and tried to trap the officials who took an honest stand. The tree-felling issue was found as there were officials who took a courageous stand to protect the trees. The only action taken against Sajan was a normal transfer. The opposition will consider taking legal action in the event of the report being released. The mention of two individuals in the report is serious. The police investigation into the matter is not going on satisfactorily, clarified Satheesan.
