CPM leader’s lewd remarks to woman who applied for loan, party fails to take action

cpm

KANNUR: It has been alleged that a CPM leader talked in a lewd manner to a party woman who came to the bank for a loan. The allegation was levelled against Nikhil Narangoli, secretary of Pinarayi Farmers’ Cooperative Bank and CPM Dharmadam Andalloor East branch secretary. The bank suspended him after the woman questioned him publicly but the party has not yet taken action.

The woman, who had applied for a bank loan, suffered a bad experience last week. The woman alleged that Nikhil called her on the phone in the middle of the night and spoke to her in a sexual manner and texted her constantly on WhatsApp. As the harassment continued, she and her relatives went to the bank and publicly questioned the secretary. The general body suspended Nikhil after they informed the president that a hunger strike would be staged in front of the bank if no action is taken against him. However, Nikhil is still continuing as the party branch secretary. Party sources said the complaint is being examined. The WhatsApp messages sent by Nikhil to the woman have also surfaced.
