THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala High Court will consider again the plea of Bindu, mother of Nimisha Fathima and her child, who joined ISIS, demanding repatriation of the two. The court had earlier sought a stand from the central government on Bindu's plea.
The petitioner contended that the government was not taking steps to repatriate Nimisha and her child and that the central government should be directed to repatriate the two to India. The centre may inform their stand to the high court today.
The plea asserted that the government has an obligation to protect the fundamental constitutional rights of the people. Bindu lodged a missing complaint of Nimisha, a native of Attukal in 2016. Investigations that followed confirmed that she had converted to Islam along with her husband and joined ISIS under the name Fathima.
