Three including siblings killed in car-lorry collision in Muvattupuzha

KOCHI: Three youths were killed after a car and a lorry collided in Muvattupuzha. The condition of one is very serious. The dead have been identified as Adhithyan (23), son of Rajendran of Mukkilakattil, Vishnu (24) and his brother Arun Babu (22), sons of Kunnel Babu. Amarnath (20) of Purappuzha Mukkilakattil, who was with them has been admitted at the Kolenchrry Medical College Hospital in a serious condition.

The accident happened Monday morning at 4 am near Kavumpady in Thrikkalathoor in MC Road. The lorry carrying an earth mover proceeding to Thrissur collided with the car coming to Muvattupuzha.

The three could not be saved even though the locals, police and the fire force were engaged in rescue operations.

The car carrying the youths met with the accident while they were returning from Bengaluru. One of their cousins were coming in another car.

The bodies of Adhithyan and Vishnu are kept at Muvattupuzha General Hospital and that of Arun at Kolencherry Medical College Hospital. The bodies will be handed over after post-mortem.
