KOTTAYAM: The crisis in Congress over the appointment of new DCC presidents continues unabated. Senior leader Oommen Chandy is miffed at KPCC president's open revelation. Chandy is annoyed at K Sudhakaran’s response to media that held discussions with him twice. Sudhakaran also showed the diary of the names proposed by Chandy. However, Chandy told those close to him that Sudhakaran had spoken to him only once and at that time opposition leader was with him. Sudhakaran publicly showed the list given on that day. He did not get the opportunity to hold a more detailed discussion. However, Chandy decided not to air his public statements now. Meantime, he decided to raise his complaint in the discussions within the party.
The public protest by senior leaders Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala following the announcement of new DCC presidents, has plunged the state Congress into an explosive situation. Chandy, who is also the AICC general secretary, rejected the list announced by the high command. However, the state leadership have decided to ignore the protests and to hold KPCC reorganization talks. Discussions on it may start from today. There is no change in the list of DCC presidents.
Provocative reaction in front of the media in Puthuppally is a new face of Chandy in the congress politics. Chandy blamed that if an effective discussion was held, a better list than this could have been made. He also expressed dissatisfaction for unnecessarily dragging his name in many places. Disciplinary action against those who make comments mean that action will be taken against me also, said Chandy. K C Joseph came forward supporting it. However, after Thiruvanachoor Radhakrishnan came to the fore justifying the leadership, the differences of opinion in the ‘A’ Group has become apparent.
The ‘A’ and ‘I’ group managers are planning to move together against the Sudhakaran-Satheesan partnership.
