Kiran was sacked as per service rules, police probe not applicable

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Antony Raju said the termination of Kiran Kumar, husband of Vismaya, a native of Nilamel who committed suicide following dowry harassment, was as per service rules. The order sacking Kiran, a vehicle inspector in the motor vehicles department, from service was issued the other day.

Kiran had demanded to give him some more time to explain the reason for not sacking him from service and that action should not be taken as a police case exists. However, the minister said the verdict in the criminal case is not applicable to the service rules and that Kiran's explanation will not legally persist.
