Mother of 21-year-old gang raped in bus at Chevayur found dead

KOZHIKODE: The mother of the woman gang raped in a bus at Chevayur has been found dead. She was found lying dead Thursday morning at their house in Pathroni Nagar in the district. The body was three days old and it was in a worm infested state. The police reached the spot after the locals informed them. The woman is under the protection of the Department of Social Justice.

The case is that the girl, who left home after a fight with her parents, was taken in a two-wheeler to a parked bus and raped. Kunnamangalam natives Gopish (38) and Shameer (32) were arrested jointly by the city crime squad and the Chevayur police. The police are yet to trace Indiesh Kumar, the second accused in case.

It was on July 5 the girl was gang raped by the three after taking her to a parked bus at Mundikkalthazham. After abusing her, they bought food from the hotel and dropped her at the Kundamangalam auto stand. She revealed the whole incident to her parents after found abnormal. They then lodged a complaint with the Chevayur police. The police got only an unclear CCTV footage of the accused along with the woman going in a scooter.
