KOZHIKODE: Mohammad Hashim, son of Vayoli Aboobacker and Waheeda of Pazhoor in Chathamangalam panchayat died of Nipah on Sunday. 12-year-old Hashim was the couple's only son.

The parents were not able to get a last glimpse of their only son. Hashim was an eighth class student. The dream of Aboobacker, a coconut climber, was to give his son the best education.

‘He will not eat any guava lying on the ground. He has eaten the rambutan which I plucked and gave him. There was no other problem. Saw him playing that day,’ his father said.
His parents were with him till Saturday. On that day night, the hospital authorities informed us that nipah has been confirmed on Hashim and asked us to go into quarantine. Following that, they came to Waheeda’s relative’s house.

The death of their only son came Sunday morning. They could not see their son lastly. The body was buried adhering to norms. Health workers received the body from the hospital and brought it to Kannamparambu.
