Half-naked body of woman thrown from speeding car; vehicles run over

COIMBATORE: A half-naked body of a woman was thrown from a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on to the road in the city. The incident happened on Avinashi Road near Chinniyampalayamin in Coimbatore city Monday morning. Police said the body could not be identified as several vehicles ran over the body.

Police inspector Muthumani and his team reached the spot immediately and shifted the body to Coimbatore Medical College. The body could not be identified as her head and face were completely smashed.

The police first suspected that the woman might have been run over by the vehicle while crossing the road. The CCTV footages examined showed the woman’s body being thrown from the SUV. Police suspect it to be a murder as she was found half naked. The cause of death will be known only after getting the post-mortem report.
