KOZHIKODE: A sigh of relief as the results of 20 more in contact list of the boy, who died of Nipah virus, turn negative, said Health Minister Veena George. Of that, 15 were tested at the Pune Virology Institute and five at Kozhikode Medical College.
The minister said the health condition of all those with the symptoms are satisfactory. The test results of 21 people are to be obtained. Of the 17 with symptoms, 16 people confirmed to be negative.
The test results of 30 people examined so far are negative. There are 68 people under observation at the Kozhikode Medical College. Monitoring will continue for 42 days. Efforts to trace the source of nipah are continuing. As the presence of wild boar was found in the area, their swabs will be collected.
