THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala clarified that he has not demanded any post in the AICC. 'I have asked no post and no one has promised to give me one. One needs no post to work in the congress party. There is no difficulty in doing so. Don't insult by giving news of a post being offered,’ Chennithala said. He also said that he would go ahead with the demand for a special public prosecutor in the assembly ruckus case.
There were news that Chennithala would be brought into the national leadership in the AICC reorganization. However, Congress sources said the possibility of it has dimmed after Chennithala's public outcry over the appointment of DCC chiefs. It is heard that Oommen Chandy may be removed from the post of general secretary in the name of old age and illness and former KPCC chief Mullappally Ramachandran may be considered for the post of general secretary.
