Kerala records 20,240 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, test positivity rate at 17.51

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 20,240 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 19,251 persons developed the disease through contact, including 774 cases without an identified source of infection. 114 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 101 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

29,710 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 2,22,255 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 67 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 22,551.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Ernakulam 2572, Thrissur 2451, Thiruvananthapuram 1884, Kozhikode 1805, Kottayam 1780, Kollam 1687, Palakkad 1644, Malappuram 1546, Kannur 1217, Alappuzha 1197, Idukki 825, Pathanamthitta 779, Wayanad 566, Kasaragod 287.

1,15,575 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 17.51.
