THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have confirmed Akshar Bagsha, a native of Uttar Pradesh behind the Nizamuddin Express robbery. The investigation team showed the photo of Akshar to the victims. They stated that they saw him in the train before it reached Coimbatore.

A search for Akshar began at the railway stations. The police believe that the robbery took place after the train left Coimbatore. The investigation team suspects that Akshar escaped even before the train reached Kerala.

Akshar's manner is to rob in and around Tamil Nadu and so the case will be handed over to Tamil Nadu Railway Police. The police are examining the CCTV footages to find in which railway station he got off. The police obtained hints that he laced drugs in the bottled water.

Three Keralite women including a mother and daughter were drugged and robbed off valuables in Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Express. It was the police who woke the three women found dozing off in the train. They were robbed off 17 sovereigns, Rs 1600 and three mobile phones.
