KOTTAYAM: The BJP has come forward supporting Pala Bishop on narcotic jihad issue. Addressing a press meet, BJP state chief K Surendran said what the Bishop said is true.
‘What Pala Bishop said is important. Kerala should discuss what he said. Evidences have been found to validate narcotic jihad. It is clear that there is narcotic jihad all over the world. Why looking at it alone. Will not allow if tried to destroy a society by intimidation. The BJP will not surrender to the goons in Erattupetta. The CM and the CPM have two opinions on the issue,’ he said.
Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai in an interview to a private channel said that he did not consider the bishop's statement to be hateful. The Christian community in the state is already dissatisfied. This is understood from the discussions with church leaders. There are discriminatory attitudes in Kerala targeting vote bank. Pillai said that for the last eight to nine years, the social imbalance in Kerala has been sabotaged by the governments.
