KOTTAYAM: BJP state president K Surendran has said that the BJP could not stand to see the Pala bishop being surrounded and attacked by those who refuse to discuss the serious concerns of the Christian community. While stating that the society should discuss what the bishop told, Surendran added that those who came out against the bishop were trying to create division.

"Terrorist organizations have links with drug cartels. Globally, they make money through the drug trade. The situation is no different in Kerala. Last year alone, heroin worth Rs 3,000 crore was seized in Kerala. About 75% of the drugs that come to India are in Kerala. These are times when terrorism is knocking on the door of every home. It will affect everyone very quickly. It brings misery to people of any religion. This situation must be understood and the opinion of the bishop must be discussed without prejudice," Surendran said.

Surendran urged the eminent scholars of the Muslim community to understand this and support the bishop and lead an open discussion. "They must come to the scene to correct the terrorists. The bishop shared the concern of the Christian community because there are so many scary things ahead. We know the incident where Prof TJ Joseph's hand was chopped. What was it done for? It is clear how entrenched terrorism is. But such things will not be allowed to happen again. The goons of Erattupetta will not be allowed to attack the Pala bishop. That time is over," he said.

"Those who say there is no love jihad or narcotic jihad are not talking about those who went to IS from Kerala. Why are girls deported to Syria following love affair? We have seen several incidents in Kerala where girls are converted to terrorism by pretending to be in love. Those who argue that there is no love jihad are supporting terrorism. Girls from many Christian families were lost in this way. Those who aim to Islamize the world are trying to achieve it by converting and increasing their population," Surendran added.
