Kerala records 17,681 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, over 200 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 17,681 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 16,656 persons developed the disease through contact, including 881 cases without an identified source of infection. 47 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 97 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

25,588 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,90,750 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 208 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 22,987.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thiruvananthapuram 2143, Kottayam 1702, Kozhikode 1680, Ernakulam 1645, Thrissur 1567, Palakkad 1558, Malappuram 1372, Kollam 1348, Alappuzha 969, Kannur 967, Wayanad 869, Pathanamthitta 821, Idukki 654, Kasargod 386.

97,070 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
