Manjeswaram election bribery case: Crime branch to question K Surendran today

KASARGOD: The crime branch will question BJP state chief K Surendran today in the Manjeswaram election bribery case. He will be interrogated at 11 am at the Kasargod Guest House.

Surendran has informed to appear before the district crime branch DySP. The case is that he threatened and bribed BSP candidate K Sundara to withdraw his nomination papers.

Sundara had given statement to the investigating team that he was given Rs 2.5 lakh and a mobile phone. Surendran is presently the lone accused in the case. Surendran has been charged under sections 171 B and E of the IPC for bribery to sabotage elections.
