THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the schools in the state set to reopen on November 1, the Education Department has begun preparations for opening the schools. Everything from safe travel facilities to disinfected toilets needs to be prepared. Discussions are being held about the vehicle arrangements to bring students to schools.

Ensuring health security in schools is the biggest challenge facing the authorities. The assessment is that teaching children Covid standards will not be easy. Vaccination of teachers and staff is required to be completed. Most teachers have received two doses of the vaccine.

Schools in the state will reopen on November 1 with strict restrictions. The government announced that classes 1 to 7 will reopen on November 1. Classes 10 and 12 will also reopen on November 1. Other classes will begin on November 15.
