Kerala records 19,675 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 142 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 19,675 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 18,924 persons developed the disease through contact, including 595 cases without an identified source of infection. 52 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 104health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

19,702 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 1,61,195 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 142 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 1,61,026.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Ernakulam 2792, Thiruvananthapuram 2313, Thrissur 2266, Kozhikode 1753, Kottayam 1682, Malappuram 1298, Alappuzha 1256, Kollam 1225, Palakkad 1135, Pathanamthitta 1011, Kannur 967, Idukki 927, Wayanad 738, Kasargod 312.

1,19,594 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
