cpm

KOLLAM: A CPM leader threatened an expatriate couple when they refused to pay a collection for the construction of martyr's memorial. Shahi Vijayan of Kovoor and his wife Shiny received a threat message from CPM Chavara Mukundapuram branch secretary Biju when they refused to give collection of Rs 10,000 for the memorial. It has been alleged that Biju called their relative and threatened. This audio clip was released by the couple.

They were threatened that a flag would be hanged at the place where their convention centre in Chavara is located and would not permit to convert their land. The couple said the Thevalakkara agriculture officer has a role in it. They alleged that despite their request to free the land in the data bank, no action was taken and that the agriculture officer and the CPM leader were colluding in the matter. The couple in their complaint to the chief minister asserted that they have been harassing them since the construction of the convention centre began.

Biju told Vijayan's relative over the phone that the couple even refused to pay a donation of Rs 15,000 for the temple festival. He said that when asked money they teased them. Don’t want collection again but will not allow to carry any work in the land. Also said the tahilsdar and the village officer will visit their place and will place a flag there.
