Manjeswaram bribery case: K Sundara levels more serious allegation against K Surendran

KASARGOD: K Sundara has come forward with yet another serious allegation against BJP state chief K Surendran. Sundara said Surendran spent Rs 50 lakh for him who was a rebel candidate in Manjeswaram elections. Sundara alleged that Surendran had offered a liquor shop and a house if withdraws the nomination papers. He said of the Rs 50 lakh given, 47 lakhs were grabbed by local BJP leaders and that he got only Rs 2.5 lakh. He said that his friend a BJP leader informed him about it.


Sundara said Surendran had offered a liquor shop in Karnataka and financial help to renovate his house, to withdraw the nomination papers. On March 21, BSP activists complained that Sundara was missing. Sundara alleged that he was at the election committee office of K Surendran at that time and under the control of the BJP. Sundara said he was given dinner and alcohol at night. The police were searching for him at that time.

The Kasargod first class magistrate court had ordered to arraign Surendran following the complaint of Left candidate V V Ramesan in connection with the bribe given to Sundara to sabotage the election. Badiyadukka police registered a case against Surendran on June 7. Surendran appeared before the crime branch DySP on September 16 at the Kasargod Guest House in connection with the case taken up by the crime branch. K Surendran is the only accused in the case.
