Guidelines for school reopening to be released on October 5

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The guidelines for the school reopening will be released on October 5. Minister V Sivankutty told the media that the draft guidelines prepared by the curriculum committee will be discussed at the meeting of the teachers' unions. The locals should help repair school buses to ensure fitness. The financial liability of the bus can be solved with the help of the locals.

A meeting of teachers' and student organizations and collectors will be convened. The proposal to hold classes from 10 am to 1 am and to conduct classes on a shift basis with 50 percent of the students on alternate days is also under consideration.

As the probability of contact in primary classes is high, it will be examined whether the number of children in the shift can be minimized. The Minister said that the renovation and cleaning of schools will be finalized soon in collaboration with the local bodies.
