kcbc

KOCHI: KCBC has said that some people are creating controversy by misinterpreting the warnings given by the priests on behalf of the believers. The KCBC said in a statement that it would work for religious harmony and commitment against social evils. KCBC's statement is in support of Pala Bishop Joseph Kallarangatt's narcotics jihad remark.

The KCBC statement said that it would stand for religious harmony and when it points out social evils, strong action should be taken after conducting detailed investigations and studies. They have the same position as Pope Francis in terms of friendship. The press release issued after the special meeting states that the work for this will continue.

'The Catholic Bishops' Union unanimously rejects practices that maliciously interpret and exaggerate the warnings given by pastors aimed at the prosperous life of the community by embracing the Word of Christ. When social evils are pointed out, take strong action by conducting detailed studies and serious investigations without deviating from the real subject by adding other colors to it. In such cases, the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council rejects the covert attempts to portray that there are differences between the churches,' said Fr. Jacob G. Palakkappilly in a press release.
