KOCHI: Monson Mavunkal, arrested in an antiquities fraud case, said that he spent all his money to lead a luxurious life. He told the crime branch that he doesn’t have a single penny and used the money swindled to buy cars.
Rs 50,000 is paid as rent monthly. The average current bill is Rs 30,000. He told the probe team that he needs Rs 25 lakh a month to pay as salary for many including the security personnel.
Monson told the crime branch that he had not received Rs 10 crore from the complainant and had obtained only Rs 4 crore. Monson said the complainants, Jacob and Anoop were given Porsche and BMW cars. He lied that he had visited 100 countries.
