Re-opening of schools: No studies in beginning, attendance and uniform not mandatory for a month

THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: Stress management classes will be given to children during the first days of school reopening. Only after days will move on to the lessons. Will fix the specific focus area and lessons from it will be taught. A decision was taken at the meeting of Quality Improvement Programme convened here today. The final guidelines for the reopening of schools will be prepared by October 5. The schools in the state will reopen in November.

Happiness Curriculum will be taught in the first days when the school opens. Bridge syllabus will be prepared for primary classes. Attendance and uniform will not be mandatory for the first month. The district level coordination of all matters relating to the opening of the school will be the responsibility of the respective collectors. The collectors will convene a meeting of head teachers, people's representatives and representatives of various departments. Vigilance committees will be formed at the school level. The meeting also decided that teachers and staff should be vaccinated before the school reopens and that teachers and non-teachers should take responsibility for this.

The government has announced further relaxations ahead of the opening of the school. One-year road tax has been exempted for school vehicles. A decision has been taken to extend the tax payment period for private buses and tempo travellers till December. Minister Antony Raju had earlier said that KSRTC buses would be given on bond basis to schools not having their own buses.
