THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has recommended a detailed probe against KPCC president K Sudhakaran. The Vigilance had conducted a preliminary inquiry into the complaint lodged by Sudhakaran's former driver Prashant Babu who alleged that Sudhakaran had acquired wealth illegally.

Prashant Babu had alleged that Sudhakaran was involved in corruption and had illegally acquired wealth in connection with the construction of the Kannur DCC office. Prashant Babu had lodged a complaint with Vigilance on June 7. Vigilance has sought legal advice on whether there is any legal impediment to prosecute Sudhakaran.

Prashant Babu, who was Sudhakaran's driver from 1987 to 1993, had also served as the Congress mandalam president and municipal councilor. He said that he had all the evidence against Sudhakaran and that the leaders, including Mambaram Divakaran, had handed over the evidence directly to him.
