school

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government guideline says that only one child should be seated on a bench in classes one to seven in schools in the state. At the LP level, 10 children can be seated in a class at the same time. The guideline says that there can be up to 20 students in a class from the UP level. The guidelines prepared jointly by the health and education departments will be handed over to the Chief Minister.

In the first phase, there will be no lunch in schools. After assessing the situation once the school reopens, distribution of lunch might be considered. The final guideline in this regard may be released tomorrow.

The draft was prepared on the basis of discussions with various quarters. The suggestion is to avoid having children in groups. The children will have to be divided into three batches as per the guidelines. Schools will be given the freedom to prepare the batch. Children in all classes should not take breaks together. The guideline also says that a timetable should be prepared accordingly.
