KOCHI: The Department of Motor Vehicles has found that all the luxury cars found in Monson Mavunkal's house in Kaloor were all scrapped vehicles and one which could not be used on roads. All the eight cars examined had expired and are with engine failures. These include Toyota, Masta, Lance Cruiser, Range Rover, Benz and Ferrari. Most of the tires were worn out. They were displayed to cheat his clients. The report of the MVD said major changes were made in the cars.

Letters have been issued to the Department of Motor Vehicles in Maharashtra, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh to ascertain the authenticity of the records of the three vehicles. Further action will be taken after receiving the report from here. Monson bought the scrapped vehicles from car dealers outside the state for a small price. As the vehicles were not used chances are very few to prove any violation. In the meanwhile, three more luxurious cars of Monson have been found. Monson had given the Benz of Punjab registration, Prado of Karnataka registration and BMW of Chattisgarh registration for maintenance work at a workshop. The crime branch collected details from the workshop owner. The MVD is examining the details of the registration.
