KOCHI: Singer V K Shasidharan (83) died here Wednesday. He had contracted Covid-19 and died at his daughter’s house in Chengannur. A singer and cultural activist, he was former general secretary of Kerala Shastra Sahithya Parishad.
He was known as VKS. He has composed songs for films. His main albums were Puthenkalavum Arivalum, Madhuram Malayalam and Balolsavam songs.
He was born in 1938 at Paravoor. After doing pre-degree in Aluva U C College, he graduated in Electrical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thiruvananthapuram.
He retired as head of electrical section from Kottiyam Sree Narayana Polytechnic in 1993. He had also served as vice president of Kerala Shastra Sahithya Parishad and Balavedi convenor.
