One killed after wall collapses in Ernakulam, three injured in accident

KOCHI: A worker from Andhra Pradesh died after a wall collapsed in Kaloor. Police said Dhanpal, a native of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, was the one killed. Three were involved in the accident. One of them has been rescued. Efforts to rescue the remaining person are ongoing.

The accident happened at Shenoys Cross Road in Kaloor this afternoon. The accident happened when the workers were engaged in cleaning the drain as part of Operation Breakthrough Project. While cleaning the drain, an old wall nearby collapsed and fell on top of the workers. Though people nearby carried out the rescue operations, it failed. The fire brigade was then informed. First two were thought to be involved in the accident and only later the third person was found.
