THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SC/ST Commission has demanded strict action against the civil police officer of the Pink Police who harassed a man and his eight-year-old daughter in Attingal. The Commission demanded that the police officer should be exempted from the responsibilities of dealing directly with the public and from duties in the uniform. It also directed a comprehensive inquiry into the incident. The SC/ST Commission took action on the complaint lodged by the girl's father.
Civil police officer Rajitha had conducted a public interrogation by accusing Thonnakkal native Jayachandran and his daughter of stealing her mobile phone. With the incident becoming a controversy, Rajitha was transferred from Thiruvananthapuram to Kollam. However, Jayachandran approached the SC/ST Commission seeking strict action against the police officer.
