Kerala records 7643 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, 77 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 7643 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 7166 persons developed the disease through contact, including 353 cases without an identified source of infection. 44 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 80 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

10,488 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 80,262 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 77 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 27,002.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Thrissur 1017, Thiruvananthapuram 963, Ernakulam 817, Kozhikode 787, Kottayam 765, Palakkad 542, Kollam 521, Kannur 426, Pathanamthitta 424, Idukki 400, Malappuram 353, Alappuzha 302, Wayanad 185 and Kasaragod 141.

82,408 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
