Kerala records 8733 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 118 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 8733 COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Among these, 8308 persons developed the disease through contact, including 326 cases without an identified source of infection. 31 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 68 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.

9855 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 81,496 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 118 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 27,202.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Ernakulam 1434, Thiruvananthapuram 1102, Thrissur 1031, Kozhikode 717, Kottayam 659, Kollam 580, Pathanamthitta 533, Kannur 500, Malappuram 499, Palakkad 439, Idukki 417, Alappuzha 369, Wayanad 288, Kasaragod 165.

86,303 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
