IG Lakshmana intervened to sabotage case against Monson, says DGP, tried to change investigating official, Behra visited museum to see antiques

KOCHI: IG Lakshmana intervened to sabotage the antiquities fraud case related to Monson Mavunkal, the DGP said. Lakshmana tried to change the investigating official probing the case, mentioned the affidavit filed in the high court.

The affidavit explained the details of the involvement of former DGP Lokanath Behra. Behra testified that he went to Monson's museum to see the artefacts and that intelligence reports had not arrived at that time.

The documents showing that traffic IG Lakshmana intervened to save Monson had surfaced earlier. The pictures of Monson with Lokanath Behra had circulated on social media.
