KOCHI: The habeas corpus plea filed in the Kerala High Court by Anupama S Chandran, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, to get her baby back, has been postponed. A decision was taken to consider the plea tomorrow. The case is in the family court and then why the habeas corpus was filed, the court asked. The court asked her to withdraw the complaint or else will be rejected. It should be considered that the decision of the high court was not in favour of Anupama.
She filed the plea asserting that the baby born on October 19 in 2020 was taken away by her parents Jayachandran and Smitha James without her consent. She also mentioned in the plea that she had approached the child welfare committee to get her baby back, but it did not yield any results. She alleged that four days after her delivery, the baby was unjustly detained by her parents and abandoned at the Child Welfare Committee without her consent. Don’t know where the baby is and have been searching the baby for a year. The fundamental rights of the baby were denied. No action was taken even after lodging a complaint with the child welfare committee and the police, she said.
