Holds mother’s hands and walks out, Swapna Suresh released from jail after more than a year

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Swapna Suresh, who was granted bail in the gold smuggling case, was released from jail. Her mother had reached the Attakulangara jail to receive her. Without reacting to the media, Swapna left holding her mother’s hands at 11.30 am.

Swapna was released from jail a year and three months of her arrest. Swapna’s mother Prabha Suresh had reached the jail in the morning to hand over the documents to the jail superintendent. Her bail conditions were produced in the court last evening.

Swapna was earlier granted bail in six cases including gold smuggling. The high court granted her bail in the NIA gold smuggling case last Tuesday. Documents including a bond of Rs 25 lakh and two sureties of the same amount were produced in the court.
