Man hacks wife to death in sleep, attacks son who came to rescue mother

MALAPPURAM: Husband killed his wife in the name of a family dispute. He also attacked and injured his son who came to block him. The incident took place at Puzhakattiri in Malappuram. Sulaikha, 52, who was sleeping at home in the afternoon, was killed by her husband Kunjimoidheen. The incident took place around 3 pm on Saturday.

After hacking Sulaikha, Kunjimoidheen reached the Perinthalmanna police station and surrendered. Kunjimoidheen also attacked his son Sawad, who was in the bathroom during the commotion, came running. Sulaikha was later rushed to MES Medical College, Malappuram but could not be rescued. Sawad was also admitted to the hospital. Kolathur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
