Permission to fell trees was given with the knowledge of the govt, action weakens Kerala's stance: NK Premachandran

IDUKKI: NK Premachandran MP has alleged that the permission to fell trees in Mullaperiyar was given with the knowledge of the government. He also said that the action weakened Kerala's stance.

"How can the officials make a decision on such a complicated topic. This action weakens Kerala's stance," Premachandran said. Earlier, minister Saseendran had said that permission to fell trees was given without the knowledge of his office or the office of the CM.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister S Duraimurugan and his team of officials had visited Mullaperiyar. Kerala gave permission to Tamil Nadu to fell trees after this.
