Action recommended against IG Lakshmana for his relationship with Monson Mavunkal

KOCHI: The government has recommended action against IG Lakshmana for his close relationship with Monson Mavunkal, accused in the antiques fraud case. The crime branch has handed over the report recommending action against Lakshmana to the chief minister.

The report said the IG has acted in a manner that is not in line with the decency of the police. The chief minister has to take the final decision regarding the suspension of Lakshmana. Action is recommended after examining the records of IG's conversation with Monson. There are complaints against Lakshmana in some other fraud cases as well.
