Ate only idli, added samosa in bill, enraged youth beats hotel owner to death

CHENNAI: A youth who came to have food in the hotel beat the owner to death. He got enraged after the amount of samosa which he had not eaten was also added in the bill. The police have taken Kannan into custody in connection with the incident. The incident happened at the hotel near Madurai K Pudur Government Technical Training College.

The youth ordered idli. However, Muthukumar, the owner of the hotel, added the amount of samosa also in the bill. When Kannan said that he had not eaten samosa, Muthukumar said that he was lying. With this, a verbal spat broke out between the two.

At the end of the dispute and in a fit of rage, Kannan took a piece of wood lying there and attacked him with that. Muthukumar died on the spot itself. The body has been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.
