Death of models, hotelier hiding many things, suspect police, reasons are as follows

accident

KOCHI: The police are questioning Roy Vayalat, owner of Hotel No 18 where the DJ party was held, in connection with the death of three people, including former Miss Kerala Ancy Kabeer and runner-up Anjana Shajan. Police said the hard disc produced by Roy for questioning yesterday was not the real one. The hard disk produced did not contain the footages of the hall where the party was held. Police believe that Roy may have destroyed the hard disk containing the footages. If this is proved, the police will register a case against him for destroying the evidence.

Liquor was served late in the hotel. Roy told police yesterday that he removed the hard disk fearing action by excise if evidence was found. Police believe that the footages will be in three hard disks. However, the hotel staff told police that the footages were in two hard disks and that the owner himself had destroyed them.

The accident happened on November 1st early morning when the models were returning from the party held at Hotel No 18. The police had also questioned Saiju, who followed them in an Audi car. Saiju told police that he followed them to tell them not to drive under the influence of alcohol. The police has not believed it.

Meantime, it is heard that a top police official reached Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram had intervened in the case. This officer met the officers questioning Roy Vayalat. Whether it is part of sabotaging the case or political importance in the incident is behind his presence is not known. He also saw the footages of the hard disc.
