Bombs hurled at CPM leader’s house in capital city, windows smashed, narrow escape for wife and children

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was a goonda attack towards a CPM leader's house in Kazhakoottam. A three-member team on a bike attacked the house of Shiju, a member of the CPM Nehru Junction branch. Police said the miscreants with iron swords broke opened the gate, hurled bombs after damaging the vehicles and the house. Shiju and his family had a narrow escape. The incident happened Saturday night at 11 pm.

The reason for the attack is not known. Police said initial reports say there is no politics behind the incident. Whether a liquor mafia is behind the incident has to be suspected. One person has been taken into custody in connection with the attack. A large police team is camping in the area.
