Kerala Kaumudi photographer Vishnu Kumarakom bags youth welfare board’s photography award

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vishnu Kumarakaom, photographer of Kerala Kaumudi Kottayam unit has bagged youth welfare board’s photography award. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000, citation and a plaque. He bagged the award in the category of social responsibility. The award is for the picture of a worker removing the plastic waste in a boat from the Thazhathangadi River. The jury assessed that the photographer had in fact copied a man's selfless service and that this was a continuous process.

Vishnu’s wife is Amitha Das (sub inspector, CISF, Kochi). Ashwavardhan Vishnu and Agnivega Vishnu are his children. Father V G Sivadas and mother Chandrika Devi.

Joemon T John is the jury chairman. Martin Prakat and Radhakrishnan Chakyat are the other members.
