18-year-old arrested for abducting, sexually assaulting minor girl

PALAKKAD: Police have arrested an 18-year-old youth for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a minor girl. The incident took place at Srikrishnapuram in Palakkad. The arrested youth has been identified as Sudheesh (18), a native of Mundur. The youth met the girl through Instagram. According to sources, the youth, who developed a friendship with the girl, went to her house and took her to his place. The girl's family later came to know that she was sexually assaulted.

Sudheesh was taken into custody around 9.30 pm by the police on a complaint lodged by the girl's family. His arrest was recorded today after detailed questioning. A case has been registered against him under the POCSO Act.
