She was priced Rs 2500, family was in a hurry to get him married, says Mofiya’s mother

ALUVA: Till he pronounced Muthalaq, she was bold, said Mofiya’s mother Fariza. He sent her a letter fixing a rate of Rs 2500 for her. We consoled her saying that Muthalaq has been banned, she said.

Fariza said Mofiya faced severe torture at Suhail’s house. His family is in a hurry to get him married and is in search of a fair girl for him. My daughter had faith in police and law, she said.

Her mother said Mofiya went to the police station seeking justice. She had asked her father whether she would get justice. She was very bold while going to the station. We never expected that she would be devastated so much, she said.

Mofiya, a third year student of Al Azhar Law College, Thodupuzha, was found hanging in her bedroom on Monday evening.
