THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Child Rights Commission has recommended strong action in the incident where an 8-year-old girl and her father were publically harassed by the Pink Police in Attingal. The Commission's intervention came three months after the incident. The Commission directed the DGP to register a case under the Juvenile Justice Act. It also demanded that the police should be given awareness of the rights of children.

The incident took place on August 27. Civil police officer Rajitha publically questioned Thonnakkal native Jayachandran and his daughter by accusing them of stealing her mobile phone.
